Admissions

NCPS students are special education students with an active IEP that are referred by local school district personnel. Each referred student will participate in an intake procedure with the Director to ensure they are appropriate for the NCPS setting. After the intake procedure, both the student and the parents or guardians must make a commitment to adhere to the NCPS rules and regulations. All NCPS students must make a commitment to respect themselves, others and the NCPS property. All NCPS students must make a commitment to demonstrate the ability to comply with staff directions and not require physical restraints for compliance.

Students are referred to NCPS for many reasons. Students may not be physically aggressive or currently displaying destruction of property behaviors. Many of the NCPS students have experienced traumatic events that have negatively impacted their lives and they require nurturing and motivation to gain the self-esteem and confidence necessary to return to public school or the work force.
